MEd Thesis.
Stemming from my work teaching in prisons, I am interested in how people re-enter society after their incarceration. In 2012 I completed an M.Ed. specializing in Adult Education, in the Department of Education Policy Studies at the University of Alberta.
My research project involved women’s experiences with re-entry and how programs might facilitate the transition to their communities. Five incarcerated women shared their past stories of re-entry and their experiences with community programs and organizations. Information was collected through one-on-one discussions, journals, and discussion groups. The women and I worked together to develop a plan for their ideal re-entry program.
