Teaching Philosophy.
I believe that:
All learning should increase our understanding of the world and ourselves.
Learning is the personal process of understanding how we interact with the world.
The consequence of learning is action.
Education, in any subject matter, should encourage students to think differently about their world.
All education and learning is tainted and influenced by the values and beliefs of those involved.
Through questioning our values and beliefs, we can come to a better awareness of how belief systems impact our society and our actions.
All individuals have valuable knowledge gained from life experience, which should be validated.
Education and learning are starting places for societal change.
